The 2002 season Peter Lee’s locally-born 3yo Bixan Mortar (Bix Bay SWE - Exquisite Design USA - TV Yankee USA) was the star of the season winning the Prakas 3yo and 6 other races. JohnRipley’s Geronimo GB (Ideal Key SWE - Sonny’s Surprise GB - Super Sonny USA).was a narrow but popular winner of the Prakas Open. Tony’s Boy (Royal Doughboy USA - Irra Kall SWE - Self Confident USA) a 3yo brother to Speedy Prince confirmed his sire’s potential with some promising runs. Darley Iron SWE ( Tibur FRA - Quick Lisa SWE - Quick Pay USA) returned after racing in France and far north of Sweden and, purchased by Maurice Ward, came back to his best at season end. Numerically the most successful imported newcomer was our first Valley Victory, Dream With Me Too USA (out of Giant Mermaid by Supergill) with 7 wins. Noreen Dragon HOL (Mark Six USA - Dodo Buitenzorg HOL - Duke Iran HOL) and Idien des Raques FRA (And Arifant FRA - Oxane FRA -) each won 5 times. But it was Lucky Furniture HOL a 8yo (Incredible Crafts - Equitana Carre - Liam Almahurst) who took the Roosevelt and Com Firm SWE an 11yo (Pythagoras FRA - Kitty Broline SWE - Speedy Spin USA) who took the Jane Paterson. Southside Girl (Southern Newton USA - Scotchnett SWE - Narold Scotch SWE) made a late impression.
